Ardy Strüwer was born in Batavia, Indonesia in 1939. He has pursued an international career and developed his own characteristic style in both graphic arts and lithography. Ardy Strüwer has been designing glass for Johansfors (owned by Magnor) since 1988. He has succeeded in adopting Magnor’s traditional glassmaking skills and raising them to new, unexpected heights. In each new design he seeks sensuality, striving to create glass that is tempting to the eye and pleasing to the touch. In Ardy’s own words, glass is like flirting with a woman playing hard-to-get – easy to heat up but quickly cools down.
