Astrid Gate’s sense of glass is immediate. Being familiar with different techniques, she is able to create pleasing objects. Her unique products have great depth, and her motifs are rich in detail and diversity. Much of her work is carried out in the spirit of her grandfather – Simon Gate, who was one of the great historic figures in the art of glass. He contributed to the creation of the graal technique and Sweden’s international breakthrough in the genre in the 1920s.
