Vas Vitreum began in Vadstena in 1985 and the company is now driven by the fourth and fifth generation of glass craftsmen. All production at the glassworks is made by the masters, thereby utilizing generations of knowledge to push the attributes of the glass to the extreme. Vas Vitreum is now acknowledged as one of the worlds leading manufacturers of handmade-blown art glass making use of the most advanced techniques to create the beautiful glass. Many of the techniques used today are the same that have been used to form glass over thousands of years.
The name Vas Vitreum is latin for "objects made of glass."
