The meeting of glass with style... Per Spook was born in 1939 and studied at Oslo Kunstskole and Ecole de la Chambre de la Haute Couture in Paris. He worked for a number of major fashion designers until 1977, when he opened his own fashion house in Paris. His success came quickly – in 1978 he won the Haute Couture "Aiguille d'Or" (Golden Needle) prize, and in 1979 he won the almost unattainable prize for the best collection of the season, the "De d'Or" (Golden Thimble). In 1993, he won his second "De d'Or". Per Spook started working with Magnor Glassverk in 1995, resulting in Kongle crystal (one of the most popular wine services in Norway), Kongle porcelain (voted "Innovation of the Autumn" at the Gifts and Interiors trade fair in 1998), the Rim wine service and the Sne art range. Per Spook is now a well-known artist, both nationally and internationally, famous as a fashion designer, painter, sculptor, photographer and designer of porcelain and glass. With his lively design and genuine talent, he is constantly pushing back the boundaries – including in the field of glass in art. Per Spook's works create moods and good atmospheres, with inspiration taken from his love of nature. |
