Cathrine Maske is an internationally recognized glass artist who has a master’s degree from the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, a BA from the National College of Art in Oslo, and has also studied at Sunderland School of Art in England. This grounding has given her a broad spectrum of skills in photography, glass and ceramics. Cathrine Maske made her first appearance in 1999 with an independent exhibition at the National Museum of Decorative Arts in Norway. Since then her lyrical glasswork has been shown in galleries and museums all over the world. Cathrine Maske has also received several awards and grants for her design work. Among others, she received the Norwegian Design award for young designers in 1997, the Talent award from Scheibler’s Foundation in 1998, an exhibition grant from the Norwegian Design Council from 2002 to 2004 and a three-year working grant for established artists from the Norwegian government in 2003. |
