Per Winge |

The artist behind Fabula... Per Winge was born in Oslo in 1941. For a large part of the Sixties he worked as a creative artist with an advertising company. A decade on he moved to Germany and educated himself in design at an art and crafts college. From here Per continued his own development from art student to artist to art teacher. In the late Seventies he returned to his beloved homeland of Norway, and began his remarkable work on the creation of his own world of design – called Fabula. The concept of Fabula was born when Per Winge was to illustrate a New Year’s greeting for his friends and acquaintances. Suddenly a figure crawled out of his imagination and began to live a life of it’s own on the artist’s sheet of paper. Since then Per and his fabulous animals have multiplied rapidly, and over the years Per Winge has painted many imaginative, strange and wonderful figures.
