Efva Attling has had a long career within fashion, music and design. She made her first piece of jewellery, the bracelet the swan, when she was 11 years old. Five years later she became the apprentice of one of Sweden's foremost silversmiths, Bengt Liljedahl. Efva did not become a designer immediately though. She was spotted by a talent scout and became a model. After a very successful international modelling career she focussed on music instead. She both wrote and performed her music. Två av oss (Two of us) became her most known song.
She took a silversmith's class again, and this made her get back to designing jewellery. Success was instant; many celebrities wore her jewellery and the reputation spread. Efva has also been a designer for many well-known brands such as H&M, Levi's, Scandinavian Eyeware for instance. Her own brand, Efva Attling Stockholm, has shops in a number of cities. Aside from commercial projects Efva co-operates with some charities. The profit from some of her jewellery design supports good causes through the Red Cross and Amnesty.
Efva has designed glass for Orrefors since 2005. According to Efva, it is a challenge for her as a designer to work with the very best glass blowers in order to transform her ideas into tangible items. She has said about her jewellery that she wants people to be moved by it; it should start a thought process. When it comes to her crystal, it is evident that the same holds true there; the names of the collections are cleverly thought out to make people think and reflect. Both the form and the name Efva's first Orrefors collection Amor Vincit Omnia, Love Conquers All, are a true celebration of love. Her new collection Endless is yet another stylistically pure collection to enjoy and be amazed by.
