Bjørn Wiinblad is a Danish artist and known for his imaginative, romantic and detailed designs. When he passed away in 2006 he left a design legacy that lives on.
Bjørn Wiinblad trained as a typographer and began as an apprentice at the age of 17, he realized that art was his passion in life. After the apprenticeship, studies began at the Graphic line at the art academy “Det kgl. Danske Kunstakademi”. At the Academy of Arts, Bjørn Wiinblad learned about ceramics and feel in love with the material and he went from a cartoonist to a ceramist. Bjørn Wiinblad learned different techniques in ceramics and developed while the years went by. Today, Bjørn Wiinblad's design lives on in different materials such as porcelain and textile.
