Elzbieta Larsten is the glass artist behind Happy Apples – unique glass sculptures that celebrate beauty, individuality, and the imperfect nature of life.
Her journey with glass began in Kosta, Sweden, in 2008. Since then, she has developed a distinctive and personal artistic expression, combining glass with contrasting materials such as handmade rusty nails, gold, silver, and copper.
Perfectly Imperfect
Happy Apples are not created to be perfect. Small bubbles, subtle colour variations, and unexpected marks may appear in the hot glass. These are not flaws, but a natural part of the individual character of each apple.
Just as no two people are exactly alike, no two Happy Apples are identical. Their beauty lies not in perfection, but in their individuality.
Elzbieta has exhibited both in Sweden and internationally. In 2016, she was Artist in Residence in Sapporo, Japan, followed by exhibitions in Sapporo and Tokyo.
Happy Apples were presented at Affordable Art Fair Stockholm in 2025, and Elzbieta will return again in 2026.
Today, Happy Apples can be found in private collections around the world – in Sweden, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Luxembourg, the Maldives, the United Kingdom, the USA, Norway, and Poland.
